Thanks to everyone who chipped in and help educate me on how to put this weapon together. Shirley and I are new to the game and you have all been amazingly helpful and patient in getting us geared up.

So here is Shirley's new AR 15.

Cody kicked us a deal on the Daniel Defense M4 V5 Lightweight 16" upper he won at Ironman. Dan swapped the quad rail for a lightweight skeletonized rail from Odinworks. We put on a JP trigger and some Magpul furniture, and away we go.

We just need some glass, some FDE Pmags, and an FSC comp and we are set. But she will be shooting in her first 3 Gun event in Parma Saturday.

I have no idea why these pics are upside down. Does this happen to anyone else?

I see them just fine (standing on head).  Looks good!  What does it weigh?
Hope is a lousy strategy, but sometimes it is good tactics.

Plan B should not be Plan A twice as hard.

If you're happy and you know it, clap your... aw hell, never mind...

Haven't weighed it yet, but oh my gosh it is light!

Easily a couple pounds lighter than my DD. I think by the time we get an optic on it, it will be just right.

I'm guessing mid-length gas system?

Yes. Mid-length gas system. Cold hammer forged Daniel Defense Lightweight barrel with a 1/7 twist.

The Odinworks forend was significantly lighter than the quad rail that came on it. We are taking it out tomorrow to get it sighted in. Pretty excited to shoot it. Should be a great little AR for her.

It's completely legal.   The only problem is that it puts you into FR Class (Full Retard), and you might be the only one in the entire country running FR.   Of course, it would set you up for 1st Place in your class, everytime you shoot.
