Here are the distances in yards
1405
1768
2000
2215

five shot per distance for score, so 20 shots scored.  Bring a few more if you want to plink of practice

if you want to just shoot one or 2 stages that is ok, same with spectating

The way the match is set up you can bolt at any time out the back

any questions let me know

It's completely legal.   The only problem is that it puts you into FR Class (Full Retard), and you might be the only one in the entire country running FR.   Of course, it would set you up for 1st Place in your class, everytime you shoot.

It it going to be a cooker this Sat so I'll have the Camera up and running before the 8am shooters meeting/sign up.

A quick shooters brief and off to the first stage.

I'd like to be shooting 8:30ish and be wrapped up by noon

Attached are the scores for today's Mile Match.
( we actually mostly shoot a Mile or farther, but Mile Match sounds nice.  The only stage less than a Mile was 1405 yards)

The day started with cloudy skies and nice temps, but then the clouds went away and the cooker got turned on.

As always 2,200 yards is very challenging, and 2,000 yards is also a very far shot.
Why do we shoot 2,000 yards?  Because it is 2x as good as 1,000 yards

anyway thanks to all who helped with set up and tear down and the shovel brigade with BADGER HOLE fill in.

The more I do this the more I  learn about broadcast technology, for example the picture on the the TV was way 'snow-y' but after changing the transmitting channel from 2 to 1 the picture cleared up super.

The next Mile Match is Aug 24 2013

Mike with his .243AI went to town! got hits at 1400, 2k and a mile

Thanks also to Scoob who volunteered and never fired a round

It looks like the .338's are still the king of the hill!

After we finished shooting one of the guys pulled out a Barrett Model 82A1, I'm guessing there was about 30-35 empty cases on the ground when I left.  --h

I was practicing in L1 while they were shooting the match.  I enjoyed listening to the snap of the bullet, it sounded like the shot itself.   But if you waited a bit, off in the distance, way, way off in the distance, you'd hear the boom of the gun.  I assume some of the guys were shooting suppressed because some of the time all I heard was the bullet.

SNAP/POP....Clang!.....................................................boooommm

Very cool.

  • It's the LIBERTY, stupid!
    • Save our country.
That was really cool!  I'm glad I made it out, even if only to watch and help out a little.  It was well worth the drive.  Next time, I'll have to bring the .308 out and get schooled!   :D

The big one is 48" x 48".  The small one is 24" x 24".
