This is what we did when I lived in Wilsonville Oregon and shot at Tri County Gun Club. We made 6 wood target stands for around 6 bays and just left them in the bays, cost is around 4 dollors each. Not only did this save time setting up stages but it was cheep. They had a barrel full of 1x 1 1/2 sticks centered at the range for people to use, everyone would put the sticks back in the barrel when finished shooting. For steel they made stands out for #6 rebar ¾ inch and just left them out for people to use, you had to have your own steel plates. This worked well, we had very few problems, once in awhile we had to build some more stands, but not that often. With a nail gun you and cut and build wood stands in around 5 min. each, one person. I could do this in interested.
